Arranging a Funeral

We understand that the process of arranging a funeral can be distressing for those involved. As a result, our caring team of professional Funeral Directors are here to offer guidance and support through this difficult time.  We approach the funeral planning stage with dignity and discretion while aiming to make the entire process as efficient and stress-free as possible.

The first step is a funeral planning consultation

Once we have been passed the certificate for burial or cremation we will work with you to arrange a date for the funeral and plan the funeral arrangements. Initially, we will organise a funeral planning consultation meeting with designated family members to agree on the funeral arrangements. The meeting can take place at either our funeral home or in the comfort of your own home.

During the meeting, we will explain all the different aspects involved in arranging a funeral. We will cover factors such as:

  • Type of service, either burial, cremation or green funeral
  • Whether the family would like us of the private chapel for family viewings
  • Agree on the style and design of coffin or casket
  • Organise transport to the funeral service and choose the funeral cars
  • Finalise the route of the funeral procession
  • Agree on music for the service
  • Confirm flower choices for the hearse and service
  • Arrange funeral service sheets
  • Decide whether a book of remembrance is required
  • Arrange obituaries
  • Discuss the options for memorials and headstones
  • Funeral costs if the arrangements are not covered by a pre-paid funeral plan
